About Anastasia
Anastasia Lindsey is a local poet and author born in raised in Decatur, IL. She published her first work of poetry in 2022, has won serval awards, and just finished her 2nd collection of poetry! She enjoys being creative and looking for new ways to write poetry. She has been writing poetry since grade school and uses it to help herself understand the world, to find love, spread love to others, and see the world through beautiful lenses.
I search for poetry all around me.
Poetry isn’t ink spilled on a page,
Or words left from the tongue,
Poetry is the story viewed from the eyes.
It’s what we admire,
then translate.
It stitches us together,
Digs at the heart,
And weeps from within.
Poetry rekindles our burnt out flame,
It connects rivers to oceans.
Poetry says I love you,
And amen,
In a million languages.
